Eddie Doyle, former bartender of Cheers and co-founder of the Cheers for Children charity, was just honored at the dedication of "Eddie Doyle Square". Boston Transportation Commissioner Thomas Tinlin was present for the unveiling of the sign, marking the intersection of Beacon and Brimmer Streets, directly across from Cheers Beacon Hill. Eddie was tending bar back when Cheers was known as the Bull & Finch, and his charm helped convince a pair of Hollywood producers to base their show on our bar. And with Eddie's initiative, Cheers for Children has been fundraising for nearly 30 years. Congratulations, Eddie!
